The OVPRED oversees and supports UB’s research enterprise, and seeks to foster an atmosphere that stimulates creativity, collaboration and community. Its staff provides administrative support for campus-wide research efforts, advocates on behalf of UB’s research needs and maximizes the benefits of UB’s research.

UB’s shared instrumentation and laboratory facilities are used by UB faculty, investigators at our affiliated institutions and business partners interested in renting equipment for data analysis, training and product testing.

Libraries are central to UB research, providing faculty, students and visiting scholars with comprehensive holdings and subject-matter librarians serving our schools, departments and research centers.

An increasing number of grants now require the use of undergraduate students in laboratories and scholarly pursuits. The Experiential Learning Network (ELN) helps students customize their education through collaboration in faculty projects.
